Q: When I become a member of the Aquatic Center, am I going to be paying my YMCA dues as well?
A: No. You will just pay the Aquatic Center.
 
Q: But if I become a member of the Aquatic Center, will I still be able to use the Y facilities?
A: Yes. You will have the same access to the Y as before. Towels are also included.
 
Q: So what will I be paying exactly?
A: This is detailed on the website. There are three options, depending on your usage of the facilities, times you would like to attend practice, etc. Pick the one that most closely fits your needs.
 
Q: Will there be new membership cards?
A: No. You will use the same card for the time being.
 
Q: Once I become a member of the Aquatic Center, how will they know I get towel service?
A: If towel service was not already included in your previous YMCA membership (i.e. your card has a red background), you can have your picture re-taken with a blue background, thus indicating you get a towel.
 
Q: Are there senior citizen rates?
A: Not at this time.
 
Q: Will I be able to use my membership to get into other YMCAs?
A: Yes.
 
Q: Why are the rates higher membership than when I belonged to the Y?
A: Here is a recent email from Coach Matt explaining:
 
There have been a number of questions concerning the membership structure and the rates.  When we set out to purchase the facility from the YMCA, the YMCA membership rates were $95 for a family.  We based all of our budgeting and forecasting for our team and facility based on this structure when we developed a business plan in the fall of 2007.  In late 2007 and early 2008 the YMCA rolled out a new membership rate structure that reduced family membership rates and went to a tiered system for towels and child care.  Unfortunately, we just can not make those same roll backs or the financial consequences for our team and the facility are grim.  The program fees have not changed from what they have been for swim team.  In order to be on the swim team or another competitive team in our facility, your child or your family must be a member of the aquatic center.  A membership through the YMCA will not gain you access to the swim team.  The aquatic center membership includes a full access pass to the YMCA of Metro Milwaukee that includes towels,etc.
