2026 Schroeder A+ Meet
- January 30-February 1, 2026
- Brown Deer, Wisconsin
- Short Course Yards (25 yards)
- Full Meet Results
The 2026 edition of the Schroeder A+ meet was held last weekend at the famed natatorium in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Every year, the team brings in a pro, often with a local connection, to compete against the local high school and age group swimmers, and this year’s featured athlete was two-time U.S. Olympian and former University of Wisconsin Badger Phoebe Bacon.
Bacon both raced in the meet and connected with local swimmers and signing autographs.
In the pool, she won all three of her races: the finals of the 100 backstroke in 51.19, the finals of the 200 IM in 1:56.13, and the timed finals of the 200 backstroke in 1:52.47. This was her first short course yards meet since finishing her collegiate eligibility at the NCAA Championships in March.
She also played an adequate rabbit for the next generation of young and talented Wisconsin backstrokes, of which there always seems to be a new wave. In the 200 backstroke, high school sophomore Maggie Dickinson finished 2nd in 1:55.03, while high school senior and Alabama commit Alyse Block finished 3rd in 1:57.38. That is Block’s lifetime best by more than 10 seconds after not having swum this race in more than a year.
While not necessarily being recruited as a 200 backstroker, that is now arguably the best event for the versatile Block (she also went a best time in the 1000 free in 10:03).
Also in those backstroke races, Northwestern ’27 commit Vanya Gojavic from NASA Wildcat Aquatics swam best times in the 100 back (55.24) and 200 back (2:03.27).
Keeping on the theme, Dawson Walters from the host Schroeder Swim Team won all four of his individual events, including new best times in the 50 free (20.63) and 100 backstroke (47.18).
Other Meet Highlights:
- 9-year-old Ana Pray from the Lake Country Swim Team won the 50 free in her age group in a best time of 27.87 in spite of being the only 9-year-old to final in the 9-10 age group. She had top two finishes in six different events.
- US Junior National Teamer Grace Koenig-Song won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.08 and 200 breaststroke in 2:14.25. While both were well off her best times, she did add a new personal best in the 400 IM in 4:19.33. Koenig-Song is a high school sophomore who will begin her recruitment cycle as probably the #3 US-based breaststroke prospect in the class.
